Date Night

Tanner and I were able to go on a date last night, thanks to Lena and Neal who babysat our girls. I took the train downtown, met up with Tanner at his office and then the date began.

First off, we went over to Mucho Burrito for supper. The lady behind the counter was super sweet and gave us free guacamole because they were out of black beans. After we paid she asked us to wait and turned to grab something else. "Dessert" she said, and handed us two cinnamon wraps. What a sweet lady :)

After the meal we walked over to the Glenbow Museum.

Again, there looked to be super sweet lady behind the counter, and I may or may not have taken advantage. Hey, we had already gotten free guacamole and cinnamon wraps! We were on a roll! In my sweetest demeanor ever, I told the lady that we were not students, but asked it we could get in for the student price ($5 cheaper/person). She was happy to! Plus, admission  on Friday's after 5:00 are 50% off, so we only had to pay $9 for the two of us! Sa-weet! The lady at admission was also super funny and friendly; I know that if I knew her outside of the museum, we would be friends.

The exhibit at the museum was.....interesting. The current exhibit is called "Watch Me Move: The Animation Show" and was all about the 150 years of animation history. Did you know that the earliest forms of animation were slides created by Eadweard Muybridge in 1879!?

Eadweard Muybridge, Athletes. Swinging Pick. Plate 110, 1879, from The Attitudes of Animals in Motion, 1881. Albumen silver print mounted on paper. Partial Gift of The Beinecke Foundation, Inc. Addison Gallery of American Art, Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts.

We've come a long way since then, haven't we?

The third floor of the museum is dedicated to it's permanent exhibit, which is all about Alberta's history. Walking around this floor, brought back a lot of memories as Tanner and I had been there for our first Valentine's day together, back in 2009. For fun, we tried to recreate pictures of us at spots that I'd remembered from our last visit.

Here's Tanner:

And Moi:

As you may or may not have noticed, Tanner and I are wearing the exact same coats as in 2009. As you probably have now noticed, my coat no longer fits. Yet, I still wear it. *sigh*

Just FYI, I've lost all the baby weight I gained while I was pregnant with Lily. I have yet to lose the baby weight I gained with Gwen. *another sigh*

On a positive note. I think that my hair looks amazingly thick and long these days! I thank my babies for that.

After the museum, Tanner and I hitched a ride on the train back home. We had to wait 30 minutes on the platform for the train and snuggled to keep warm. When we returned to my sister's house, I learned that Lily had been crying ever since she had woken up an hour prior. It had been 4 hours since she last ate and she was hungry. Sorry Lily! Sorry Lena! I wasn't thinking. Next time I'll leave some formula or something.

Another picture (attempt) of us downtown.
