Rocks and Raisins

** No, the title isn't referring to any kind of bowel movement**

Gwen is learning that it is fun to play outside.

This first statement might sound a little weird, but it is true. It was the dead of winter when Gwen learned how to walk. Even then, she was still a bit unsteady. So playing outside in the snow was never very much fun, as she would constantly lose her balance and fall down. And she HATED having any part of her touch the cold snow. Thus, it was hard fro her to have fun outside.

Now that it is sunny and warm, she is discovering a whole new world and is absolutely loving it. We are lucky to have a small playground right behind our house, but, on Saturdays, we are able to drive somewhere close and go exploring as a family. This weekend we went to Bowness Park.

Gwen really loved it there. The playground was really fun for her, despite the fact that it was old and little, and was swarming with dozens and dozens of children. Gwen's favorite were the slides, which they had two of that were her size. We loved walking through the grassy fields, breathing in the smells of the season: campfire and hot dogs!

The three of us enjoyed strolling around on the trails. Gwen mostly hitched a ride on her daddy's shoulders eating her snacks. Raisins are her favorite snack, and I am always sure to have a box in my purse wherever we go. We also walked down by the river to skip rocks. Gwen LOVED tossing rocks in the water  (almost as much as she loves to show us her belly!) Tanner is such a good teacher. I mostly just chilled out in all my prego-glory taking snapshots of the afternoon happenings.

I'm realizing that I haven't blogged much about how this pregnancy thing is going. So...

I am almost 31 weeks now! Gahh! Where has the time gone!? My doctor has told me that I will probably be induced around 37 weeks, just to be safe (more on that here). And for those of you who are wondering how everything is going, baby is doing just great. With ultrasounds every other week, as well as doctor appointments, we are very well taken care of. Baby is growing healthily and on track. No concerns with RBC count! Yay! Such a strong little girl, fighting off mommy's big bad antibodies. We are all very happy.

Today, Gwen and I went to the Library for the first time. I got a library card for me and a free one for Gwen. We checked out Gwen's first library book today. I am looking forward to registering Gwen in some of the great reading and song programs that the library offers the little ones. I'm curious to see how Gwen will do. For Tanner and myself, I rented the animated movie version of The Hobbit. I remember watching it when I was really little, like, when Ben was still living at home before his mission, so I would have been about 6 years old. I wonder if Tanner will enjoy it as much as I did....19 years ago!

Have a fabulous Monday!
Jenny
