Sew, It's Mother's Day

A few weeks ago I came home from a day at my parents to find this on our dining room table.

I was pretty surprised and absolutely elated that Tanner had bought me my very own sewing machine as I LOVE to sew and am always borrowing the sewing machines of gracious family and friends.
The sweetest part about it was that Tanner used his birthday money to buy it.
Tanner said "I was thinking about what I wanted for my birthday and I decided that I wanted the curtains hemmed."

Tanner wasn't lying.

He's been hounding me to hem the curtains for the past 4 months, and for the past 4 months I've been telling him that I wouldn't hem the curtains until I had my own sewing machine (which I was hoping to save up for and buy at the end of summer), as I was done asking others to borrow theirs.

The only unfortunate thing about all this was that the sewing machine that Tanner had bought had something wrong with it, that after 3 hours of trying to hem our stupid curtains with no success, I returned it to the store.

A few weeks later, a flyer caught my attention at Sewing World near(ish) to our house - all their Pfaff machines were on MEGA SALE. However, if I was to get even the basic model (even with the sale), I would be spending more than what Tanner had originally spent on the Singer machine. With the testimony of a friend who loves her Pfaff Hobby, I prepared a speech to convince Tanner that THIS was the sewing machine for me - a basic sewing machine that would last me a lifetime.

Tanner quickly gave the go ahead (he must really want those curtains hemmed!), and told me that the sewing machine would be my Mother's Day gift.

So here it is . . .

a sewing machine of, of my very own!

Thank you, Tanner!
