M(a)y Long Weekend

This long weekend was unusual, but great nonetheless.

At the beginning of the week, we heard the great news that Tanner's younger brother, TJ, and his BYU Rugby team, made it to the rugby national championship game that was taking place on Saturday. Luckily the game was happening in Utah, so my in-laws purchased tickets, and Thursday they were driving down to Utah with Tanner. I would have joined them, along with the girls, but my passport is expired :( Pooh.

So my long weekend began Friday, which I pretty much spent at entirely at home, doing laundry, and deep cleaning the whole house. Maybe not the most fabulous way to spend a long weekend, but I quite enjoyed it. And it was just for a day, the rest of the weekend gets better.

Saturday was the opening day at Heritage Park, and since we still have our passes from last summer I thought it would be a great time to go with my sister and little niece. It was a great day exploring the park. Amazingly, Gwen really enjoyed the midway rides. I still remember last season, when Gwen looked petrified riding the caterpillar ride with Tanner and her cries of terror when she rode on  the Ferris wheel with her Grandma Allred. This year, I had zero expectations. Amazingly Gwen went on three rides with no fuss, and even went on the mini Ferris wheel with Evee and NO adult.

I was so proud.
