No Heat Curls

There is a pretty neat hair tutorial video floating around on the web. The idea is that you can get beautiful curls with no heat and and takes pretty much no time to do. I could go on to explain it, but here's the video that does it SO much better.

So last night, in my excitement, I tried it out. After getting my hair all prepped, I verbally warned Tanner that I looked pretty ridicuous and not to laugh when I came downstairs. Of course he laughed, he couldn't help himself and I couldn't blame him: I did look pretty silly.

First off, if you are going to try this for yourself, take her recommendation to use a really stretchy band! The only thing I had on hand was a super tight head band/elastic, and I kept waking up in the middle of the night with a POUNDING headache. I wanted to take it off SO bad, but my desire for beautiful curls was far greater, so the headband stayed on all night. In the morning I was dying to take it off. Not surprisingly, I had a red dent in my forehead where the elastic was. Ouch!

After 2HOURS! the red mark went away. I finally felt motivated enough to put on some makeup and fix the hair up a bit. I am definitely going to be doing this again!! I just love it. My only issue was that the hair at the back of my head didn't really curl (Hence the side pony). I think I got tired and lazy by the end. Next time, I will make more of an effort to twist and wrap ALL of my hair.

Have I ever told you that I lurve makeup?
Because, I do.

  1. I always do this! Found the vid a few months ago...and it's amazing, changed my life, lol. I do find that if you dampen your hair a bit before bed, that you get a way tighter fit with the hair band, and then way tighter curls too, even at the back. Most days my curls are still in 2 days later! I also heard of someone that uses 2 headbands, and layers it for even more curls, I plan on trying that soon!

  5. Thank you for posting this! I found about it a month ago and have tried it a few times. I like how you didn't include your bangs and how it worked - i had the same trouble with there not really being curls on the back. I will have to try the layered headband thing too, that cc mentioned. I love your pics. pain is beauty beauty is pain. and makeup is magic, i agree. BTW your end result was very awesome. I'll have to try the side pony
