When One Can't Sleep

It's 6:30 in the morning and I'm awake.

I've been awake since 4:50.

Gwen woke up to tell us that she had peed the bed, and after getting her cleaned up and changing her bedding I was not able to fall back asleep.

I'm usually quite a good sleeper, but since finding out that we are moving to Halifax at the end of the summer and as this baby keeps getting bigger and bigger inside my already stretched-to-its-limit tummy, I have been finding a good deep sleep difficult to come by.

As of late, houses for rent and kijiji ads have been floating through my dream space.
We are certainly stressed about finding the right place, and I'm usually spending the last hour of my day surfing through rental sites and writing emails to landlords.
So it's not wonder that this is all I dream about, it just sucks that I wake up in the morning feeling a little more frazzled than the day before.

BLESSING:
Earlier this year a young couple joined our ward, one is a Halifax native and the other served his mission there. How awesome is that!? We had them over for supper this past Sunday and discussed all things Maritime. We had a lot of questions and they were gracious enough to answer all of them. Like, what is "oil heat"? How much does milk cost? Gas? What neighbourhoods are "sketchy"? What's the church like over there? It was exciting for us hear all about the city and we can't wait to move there. The biggest blessing, however, is that they offered to have their family in Halifax help us with house hunting! WHA!? Needless to say, I slept quite peacefully that night.

So this morning . . .

I am awake. And blogging. And enjoying the success of having cleaned the entire main floor without waking anyone. Huzzah!

Now to get dressed and tackle this mound of laundry.

Gwen climbed on top of this yesterday and exclaimed:
"I climbed the mountain!"

Yes. Yes, you did.

  1. How fun that get to go on an adventure with your little family! Ryan and I moved to Boston last year and I can relate to some of the feelings you have. It can be stressful to be looking for a place to live. I'm glad that you have people that are willing to help you out! I dream of visiting Halifax someday. I looks breathtakingly beautiful in all the pictures that I have seen. I am SO excited for you!

    1. That's what we've heard! It's something ridiculous, like $7/gallon! I wonder what the price of Almond milk is? Hmmmm . . .
