When Tanner came home from work late last night, it was cold and snowing. Tanner had lost his house key and was locked outside. For the next several minutes, Tanner attempted beckon me do the door via door knocking, doorbell ringing, pebble throwing, and phone calling. I was FAST asleep and didn't hear any of it. Did I mention that it was really really late? Twenty plus minutes later I am roused and come to the door. If it was me stuck outside at 12:30 in the morning, I would have been totally irrate, yet Tanner is calm and greats me with a kind hello. He then calmly tells be that he lost his key and was locked out.
Me: "How long have you been out here?"
Tanner: "About 28 minutes."
Me: "Um, what!? 28 minutes!? I am SO sorry, I didn't hear you!"
Tanner: "I must have rung the doorbell over 400 times. Do you know where me key is?"
Me: "Um....no. 28 MINUTES!!? I'm SO SORRY!!!"
This morning as Tanner was getting ready to go back to work, I asked him if he had been locked out last night, or if I had dreamed it. He tells me that it had happened, so I continue to apologize.
Before Tanner left to catch the bus to work, I gave him a kiss and promised him I'd leave the door unlocked.
Now to find the spare key.
