Fabric Affair

Before I start the lengthy post about our trip to Utah, I need to clean my house. What a disaster. But because I haven't posted in a while I thought I would do just a quick post about some of the fabric that I bought while we were in Bountiful, UT.

First off, fabric in the US is WAY cheaper than it is in Canada. Plus, I think that fabric demand in Utah is greater than.....anywhere else, so there is a HUGE variety, and a lot of designer fabrics, to choose from. The store that I went to was Brooks Fabrics in Bountiful. It was a small store but was packed wall to ceiling with gorgeous fabrics. I was in heaven! Surprisingly, it only took me 15 minutes to find all the fabrics I needed.

So here is what I bought:

Just look at this gorgeous flannel! The top three are from the Robert Kaufman: Izzy line. The bottom polka-dot one is from the Robert Kaufman: Urban Bloom line. All of them coordinate very well, I think.

This flannel will be used to make a blanket for our expected little girl, and will look much like this one I made for Gwen last year.

Second, I purchased some cotton fabric from the Riley Blake: Sweet Nothings line by Zoe Pearn. I'm in love!

I know that it's a bit early to be thinking about it, but I am going to use this fabric for Gwen's Christmas presents. I'll be making four cloth sacks that will hang from something like this:

Each sack will contain a different Christmas present. One of which will be this crayon roll from Make It and Love It.

I am really excited to get started on these projects. All I need now is a sewing machine! Haha :)
