My Little Mess Maker

Gwen is getting fast these past few days. She is now totally crawling and with her new found mobility, she is exploring all the rooms in the house. Her cousin Isaac showed her how to climb stairs while we were in Banff, and since then, she has been obsessed with them! We don't have a baby gate yet, so I've been using boxes, bins, and chairs to keep her away from the stairs. She is the little explorer who can't sit still. This week, while I was folding the laundry in our room, Gwen was playing in her room. From our room across the hall, I could hear her laughing and screaming with giddyness. I called out "What's going on in there Gwen!?" When I came into her room she gave me this huge grin, standing in the midst of what looked like a tornado trail. She had completely destroyed her room! (Well, at least the lower 2 feet of it.) Even though I had just cleaned her room that morning, there was no possible way I could have been upset. She was having so much fun! It is in moments like these that I realize how in love I am with my little girl. I am so proud to be her mother. She's MY little mess maker.

  1. My little Paige was just like that Jenny. Make sure you keep anything large bolted to the wall! We had a double dresser come down twice before she was 2 and have no idea how both times she managed to escape unscathed!

Your little girl is so cute. Motherhood is wonderful.

  2. Oh Wow! I'm glad that Paige survived her 2's! I wouldn't have even thought to bolt things down. Bu I guess it's quite necessary!

  3. I'd like to think they grow out of that stage...but Renae still takes stuff out of everything and puts it on the ground.
