Gwen loves to color and "draw". We have a coloring book and markers that we bring to church, and it keeps Gwen occupied forever. It is really fun to watch her as she picks a color, takes off the lid, makes a few scribbles, puts the lid back on and then puts the marker back. I told Tanner this week that we will need to keep this coloring book as a keep-sake for Gwen as it is full of her colorful scribbles.
Although markers are Gwen's go-to medium, she will also create beautiful toddler art with paint, playdough, crayons, and chalk. Chalk, I would have to say is the runner up to markers as it entails being outside. Despite the rain yesterday, Gwen was determined to be outside to play/color. I pulled out her chalk set and let her do her thing on the front stoop. Gwen loved being outside during the thunderstorm, coloring her feet with chalk, which I thought was new and weird. She would look at me all surprised and say "Oooooo!" whenever she heard thunder, which was quite frequent, and then would continue to put chalk on her feet.
It was a fun 30 minutes that ended with the two of us running around the front lawn, barefoot, in the rain. One of us even ended up chasing the other down the block. Can you guess who?

Barefoot in the rain is the best way to be! Sounds like a lot of fun for you and your little lady!
