For the Christmas holidays, Tanner was fortunate to receive 10 days off work. We had a great holiday with family, and Gwen LOVED all the time she got to spend with her dad. Usually, during the week, Tanner has to leave for work before Gwen even wakes up, and he doesn't get home until 6:00. Before you know it, it's Gwen's bedtime. Suffice to say, Gwen is usually not accustomed to having her dad at her disposal for the entire day (10 days). She loved every minute of the holidays as Tanner is really fun to play with. She really got spoiled over the holidays. We all did!
We are back at home now, and back into routine; Tanner leaves for work early in the morning, and stay home and hang out with Gwen during the day. Now, as I mentioned before Tanner usually leaves for work before Gwen wakes up, as was the case yesterday. But THIS morning, Gwen awoke early and had a few minutes to snuggle with Dad before he left for work. When Tanner had to leave for the bus, I brought Gwen to the door to say good-bye. I waved her arm and said "Bye!" for her. Gwen knew what was going on, her dad was leaving her, and she burst into tears. When the door closed, Gwen stayed right at the door crying, hoping that Dad would come back, and she's been an emotional wreck ever since. Lots of crying today (especially at the front door), and temper tantrums. I honestly think that Gwen is going through "Daddy Withdrawal". He's way more fun than me, more energetic, and more exciting. I'm just old news. Honestly, I think that I'm going through withdrawal, too. Tanner is just great and I can't wait until 6:00.
Here are some pictures showing some of the reasons, Gwen loves her dad so much:
They take naps together.
He carries her around on his shoulders.
He reads to her.
He lets her swim naked and other fun things.
He throws her up in the air.
He snuggles with her.
